Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Gustopher ("Gustopher," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Caleb Johnson, accesses, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the Gustopher application (the "Service"). By connecting an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
We designed Gustopher to do useful work on your behalf while collecting and retaining as little of your data as possible. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Information we access
Gustopher only accesses third-party account data when you explicitly connect an account and grant permission. You may connect Google and/or Microsoft accounts. When you do, you authorize the following scopes:
Google services
- gmail.readonly — to read email messages so the Service can summarize, search, or reference them when you ask it to.
- gmail.send — to send email messages on your behalf when you request it.
- Google Calendar — to list events, check availability, and create events when you request it.
- drive.file — to read and write only the specific Google Drive files you open with, or create through, the Service. We do not request access to your entire Drive.
Microsoft services (Microsoft Graph)
- Mail — to read and send Outlook email when you request it.
- Calendars — to list, check, and create calendar events when you request it.
- Files.ReadWrite — to read and write OneDrive files when you request it.
We request the narrowest scopes needed for the features you use. We do not request access to data the Service does not need.
How we use your information
We use the data you authorize solely to perform the actions you ask the Service to perform — for example, reading an email you asked us to summarize, sending a message you asked us to send, checking your calendar, or saving a file you asked us to create. We do not use your email, calendar, or file content for any purpose unrelated to providing these features.
Specifically, we do not:
- sell, rent, or trade your personal data or account content;
- use your data for advertising or build advertising profiles;
- share your data with third parties except as needed to provide the Service (see "Third parties" below) or as required by law;
- use your Google or Microsoft user data to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
How we store and protect your information
When you connect an account, we store the resulting authorization tokens, not your account password. These tokens are encrypted at rest. Access tokens are used to make requests to the relevant provider on your behalf and are scoped to your individual account.
Account connections are per user: your connected credentials are associated with your account and are not shared with or accessible to other users.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your authorization tokens only for as long as your account remains connected. You can revoke Gustopher's access at any time:
- by disconnecting the integration within the Service, which removes the stored credential; and/or
- by revoking access directly with the provider — for Google at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and for Microsoft at account.microsoft.com.
When you disconnect an integration or delete your account, the associated stored credentials are removed. To request deletion of your data, contact us at [email protected].
Compliance with Google API Services User Data Policy
Gustopher's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Third parties
Gustopher relies on a small number of service providers to operate (for example, cloud hosting and AI model providers used to process your requests). These providers process data only as needed to deliver the Service and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We share data with them only to the extent necessary to provide the features you use.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
